A returning client of RWS needed to relocate to another office space in the North East of England within a short timescale, faced with variables such as:
- Will our existing furniture fit?
- Will our existing staff levels fit?
- Can we create additional workspace?
RWS visited site with the client, scheme and developed it into a working model.
A fully detailed measured survey of the site was undertaken and RWS Design team got to work preparing CAD sketch schemes including space planning and redeveloping the office space to suit the corporate needs of the organisation.
Start of the project included taking a schedule of existing fixtures, fittings and furniture and working them into the proposed area to accommodate staff plus having to factor getting the furniture and materials into a first floor space with limited and restricted access.
The staff required a location for a new breakout area / Tea room, to meet their requirements, and not substantially reduce the working area of the site.
After sketch schemes were devised with the client to implement the needs of the organisation, they asked if RWS could assist in the refurbishment of the dilapidated office workspace left from a previous tenant and create a space to match their corporate identity which is more modern and contemporary. This included relocation of services such as air conditioning, additional electrical and data points, HDMI and data to meeting rooms suitable for video conference meetings.
RWS undertook the project on one of our Concept2Completion models and created a program to get the works done and completed within a three week period, the set deadline. The largest task in the existing space was utilising the best available building fabrics available to reduce the noise volumes to certain areas such as private office space and conference rooms, something RWS have extensive knowledge and experience of. Using acoustic reducing materials and our expertise, the test results, with use of decibel meters, came well within the scope the client wanted.
