HMP Whitemore, March

Location: HMP Whitemore, March, Cambs

Client: Home Office

Value: £900,000

Construction Period: 24 months

Project Description:

This is the largest high security category "A" prison built in the late 80s. The requirement was to install over 5,000 m2 of polycarbonate to all external openings. The contract also required us to install approximately 1,000 cell windows.

We also carried out an installation in the main control centre. This was done by means of a formed stainless steel structure, which combined with 12 air locks. The frames incorporated 50mm bullet resistant glass. All doors and air locks have a centralised override.
