Project Brief:
Consular Roof Glazing: The site is situated on the rift valley causing major design problems for the resident architect. Our structure had to incorporate earthquake movement of a factor of five.
Project Description:
The problems were overcome by suspending the structural glazing element on a rubber mounting, which allowed for 50mm movement. We then clad the entire structure in a pressed aluminium section with a multi-coloured powder coating. The parabolic roof curvature required an extensive survey with a full scale mock up being manufactured back in the UK.
